IHSG drops 1.88% as foreign investors post net sales

Indonesia’s benchmark closed at 6,031.28 on 8 October 2026, while foreign investors recorded Rp867.27 billion in net selling across all markets.

Indonesia’s IHSG share index finished trading on 8 October 2026 down 1.88% at 6,031.28. Foreign investors were net sellers, although several companies attracted net foreign buying, according to figures reported by CNBC Indonesia.

Trading amounted to Rp12.79 trillion, with 632 million lots changing hands through 1.95 million transactions. Declines affected 497 stocks, while 171 advanced and 119 ended unchanged.

Across all markets, foreign net sales reached Rp867.27 billion. The regular market accounted for Rp848.28 billion, with Rp19 billion recorded in the negotiated and cash markets.

Stockbit data cited by CNBC Indonesia showed that Ultra Jaya Milk Industry & Trading Company had the largest net foreign purchases among the stocks listed. The five highest amounts were:

  • PT Ultra Jaya Milk Industry & Trading Company Tbk. (ULTJ): Rp42.00 billion.
  • PT Astra International Tbk. (ASII): Rp27.99 billion.
  • PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk. (DSSA): Rp16.16 billion.
  • PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk. (MEDC): Rp15.53 billion.
  • PT Merdeka Gold Resources Tbk. (EMAS): Rp15.23 billion.
