IDX summit puts market reform and investor confidence on agenda
Officials discussed exchange demutualisation, ownership limits and governance at the International Capital Market Summit 2026 in Jakarta.

Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) brought regulators, companies and investors together in Jakarta on 23 September for discussions on market reform and investor confidence. Supported by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the International Capital Market Summit 2026 covered governance, free float requirements and measures to strengthen market integrity.
IDX president director Jeffrey Hendrik said Indonesia’s capital market had 962 listed companies, 31.8 million investors and market capitalisation of Rp11,100 trillion. He said that growth required greater emphasis on market quality, credibility and international competitiveness.
Mohamad Hekal, deputy chairman of Commission XI of the House of Representatives, stressed the importance of demutualising the exchange and consistently applying the 5 per cent shareholding limit under OJK Regulation Number 13 of 2026. He linked those measures to protecting IDX’s independence.
OJK Board of Commissioners chairwoman Friderica Widyasari Dewi said continuing reform and aligning regulations with international standards remained important for maintaining investor confidence amid global economic changes. Participants included representatives from J.P. Morgan, UBS, MUFG and HKEX.
