E&O and OCK partner on digital infrastructure for Andaman Island
Subsidiaries of the two groups will form a joint venture covering telecommunications towers, broadband networks and connectivity within buildings.

Eastern & Oriental Bhd (E&O) and OCK Group Bhd have agreed to work together on telecommunications and digital infrastructure for Penang's Andaman Island. E&O said the partnership would develop and operate networks serving the island's residents and businesses.
The joint venture will bring together Tinggi Murni Sdn Bhd, an indirect subsidiary of E&O, and OCK Setia Engineering Sdn Bhd, OCK Group's telecommunications network and digital infrastructure services provider. Its scope includes smart poles, telecommunications towers, fibre-optic networks, broadband and connectivity systems inside buildings.
OCK Group managing director Datuk Sam Ooi Chin Khoon said the arrangement would incorporate digital infrastructure into property developments during planning. He said towers, indoor coverage and fibre-to-the-home infrastructure would be brought onto one platform, intended to help telecommunications operators expand their networks more efficiently.
E&O managing director Kok Tuck Cheong said planning for digital connectivity, utilities and accessibility was necessary to support Andaman Island's development as an integrated waterfront destination.
