Danantara Indonesia is prepared to invest in Indonesian equities amid a decline in the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) on 16 October 2026, chief executive Rosan Roeslani said.

Speaking at a press conference at the Indonesia Stock Exchange building, Rosan said Danantara viewed depressed valuations, especially those of listed state-owned enterprises, as an opening for long-term investment. He said its strategy was not aimed at profiting from short-term share-price movements.

Rosan said Indonesian companies retained strong fundamentals. He pointed to banking, where he said some shares were trading below book value despite the sector's underlying strength. Infrastructure and telecommunications were also among the sectors Danantara saw as offering long-term prospects.

Danantara could draw on its investment ecosystem to enter the stock market, he said, adding that he believed listed companies had room to grow.

Rosan attributed the market pressure partly to technical factors and rumours rather than company fundamentals alone. He also welcomed efforts by the Financial Services Authority and the Indonesia Stock Exchange to advance capital-market reform.
