Chocolate Finance has launched investment services in the UAE, adding a market beyond Singapore and Hong Kong. The company said residents and international non-residents can open accounts denominated in UAE dirhams, US dollars or both.

According to Chocolate Finance, customers can earn 4.4 per cent per annum on the first AED 100,000 or US$25,000 respectively. For investments above those limits, returns can reach up to 4.4 per cent. Its top-up programme covers investments within the thresholds, subject to terms and conditions.

Customers do not face a minimum investment requirement or a lock-in period. Founder Walter de Oude said the UAE operation invests through the proprietary Chocolate Global Income Fund rather than third-party funds, unlike the structure used by its Singapore and Hong Kong businesses.

De Oude said using its own fund reduces operating costs, enabling slightly higher customer returns. Chocolate Finance said the UAE’s Capital Market Authority licenses and regulates both the company and the fund.

The company warned that customers’ invested capital is at risk and that historical performance is not an indicator of future returns.
