Increased requests for redemptions and higher credit risk affecting some investments have prompted AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd (ARIM) to suspend transactions temporarily in three funds. Investors cannot subscribe, redeem or switch units while the suspension applies.

The funds involved are AmanahRaya Syariah Trust Fund (ARSTF), AmanahRaya Syariah Income Fund (ARSIF) and AmanahRaya Unit Trust Fund (ARUTF). ARIM said it acted under regulatory requirements to address liquidity pressures and safeguard fair treatment for unitholders.

According to the manager, the halt provides time to examine liquidity, reassess investment values and decide its next steps. It is also intended to reduce pressure to dispose of assets at deep discounts, which could diminish investors’ holdings.

ARIM said the transaction restrictions alone should not be taken as establishing that an issuer has defaulted or that an investment loss has been realised. It is tracking the investments concerned and consulting the issuer, sukuk trustee and trustees overseeing the funds.

The manager said valuation assessments would follow relevant policies, fund documentation and regulatory requirements. It would disclose material developments once checked and assessed, review the halt regularly with trustees, and use official notices and authorised channels to announce any extension or reopening.
