Singapore-listed AEM lost up to 7.7 per cent on Oct 13 amid declines in semiconductor stocks worldwide, following Chinese memory manufacturer CXMT’s report of advances in a chip design with greater data-storage capacity.

At 11.34 am, AEM traded at S$9.96, a decline of S$0.83 from its previous close. The stock subsequently recovered to S$10.07 at 2.30 pm, leaving it down 6.7 per cent.

Intel, a major AEM customer, fell 3.2 per cent. SanDisk lost 6 per cent and Micron declined 3.9 per cent, while a US chipmaker gauge dropped 2.7 per cent. In Asian trading, CXMT was 3.3 per cent lower at 9.55 am in Shanghai, and South Korea’s SK Hynix fell almost 4 per cent in early trading.

AEM supplies equipment and systems for testing chips before deployment. In 2025, it said it had won a customer from among three leading memory chip companies: Samsung Electronics, Micron Technology and SK Hynix.

Despite the decline, AEM shares have gained 487 per cent since the start of the year, largely reflecting the artificial intelligence trade.
