Iskandar Investment sets out next growth phase under STAR2040
The company has invested RM6 billion in infrastructure supporting about 2,703 hectares of development land in Iskandar Puteri.

Iskandar Investment Bhd (IIB) is seeking to draw investment and expand Johor’s business ecosystems through its STAR2040 strategy as it marks its 20th anniversary. The company said its next growth phase would build on infrastructure spending of RM6 billion across about 2,703 hectares in Iskandar Puteri.
President and chief executive officer Datuk Idzham Mohd Hashim said IIB would use its accumulated investments and partnerships to strengthen Iskandar Puteri’s appeal to businesses. He said the priority was to keep attracting companies through existing development foundations while generating long-term value for Johor.
Medini has drawn 47 global business services companies since 2013, supporting about 7,200 jobs. EduCity, which opened in 2012, has produced nearly 10,000 graduates. IIB also reported that its development activities had generated RM816.7 million in revenue for governments at local, state and federal levels.
Alongside Medini and EduCity, IIB’s portfolio includes the 1,200-hectare Wawari masterplan. The Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone is expected to offer additional scope for businesses operating across the border. IIB also introduced an updated corporate identity and a new tagline, “Catalysing Growth”.
