Green Bay, WI – August 7, 2017 – Vertical Consultants proudly announces that the city of Green Bay will soon have a new cell tower site. Trinity Lutheran Church was recently approached to place a newly constructed cell tower on its property. As an advocate for the church during lease negotiations, Vertical Consultants was able to negotiate a lease agreement for a new tower that will provide additional revenue to the church while also protecting the church’s interests.
Hugh Odom, president and founder of Vertical Consultants, said of the new cell tower lease, “We take pride in helping our clients get the most possible rent, as well as protecting their interests during cell tower lease negotiations. We are thrilled we could help the church assess the fair market value of its property and deliver a new revenue stream with a secure long-term outlook.“
Mr. Odom continued, “Each cell site is unique and we treat each situation according to its needs. With a church tower like this one, it is important to protect them financially, as well as limit the access the tower company will have so that their technicians aren’t working on the tower during a church service. Many people also worry about possible health side effects from having a tower onsite, so we’ve included language in the contract to cover testing. On the financial side, churches are in a unique situation because of their tax status. Cell tower lease revenue and future changes can cause unforeseen tax implications. We included language to ensure the church is not responsible for those taxes, which can be significant.”
Vertical Consultants was also able to help the church understand the full value of its land and long-term opportunities by requiring that they share in future increases in revenue over the life of the lease.
Residence and visitors of the Green Bay town will also feel the benefits of this new cell tower, particularly on game days. As the population grows by 60,000-70,000 people during Green Bay Packers’ game weekends, the capacity needs for cell service also increase. With the new cell site’s location, Packers fans will enjoy a better mobile experience while rooting on their favorite team. This will reduce the number of dropped calls, increase the coverage areas, and improve the speed of other data-heavy cellular tasks such as video and social media sharing, which are popular game day activities.
