First born daughter of reknowned international scholar denied the right to bury her father, due to family politics and the improper removal of her father's body across international borders.
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania Aug 26, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Professor Robert Rugimbana was a brilliant mind, academic and a remarkable man who touched the hearts, minds and lives of people around the world. Prof. Robert was also a family man, a man who loved and adored his two daughters, Bianca and Emily.
As we know, laying a parent to rest is difficult and the relationship and bond shared with a father is not one that everyone can receive, nor can it be replaced. On August 12, 2023, friends, family and colleagues of the late Professor, gathered to hold a memorial service in Pretoria, South Africa, with his first born daughter Bianca present to speak in front of hundreds, paying her respects to her father and the community he served and loved in Pretoria, South Africa.
Unbeknownst to Bianca, the body of her father was removed overnight from Pretoria, South Africa to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, without the legal consent of Prof. Robert Rugimbana's attorneys. Shockingly, well known and shamed ex-Commissioner of Dodoma, Jordan Rugimbana spearheaded the removal of the body secretly. As many can recall, Jordan Rugimbana was fired from his role within Dodoma, with Mhe. Rosemary Senyamule now serving the community. He has since struggled to regain success and notoriety as a trusted public servant. Rugimbana's two sisters, Israela Chitaneri and Rovitha Tambwe also aided in the removal of the late Professor's body. Chitaneri moved from the United Kingdom, and now resides in Dar es Salaam, and Tambwe is a local resident of Mikocheni. This trio banded together to not only commit improper acts, but to rob their niece of the right to bury her father. As found online, consular cases are now open against all three to investigate further, with local attorneys and authorities involved in Tanzania and South Africa.
Despite this injustice to Bianca, her father, younger sister and loved ones, Bianca was adamant that the culture and country of Tanzania means a lot to her and her father, and she wished to focus on the exemplary things she has been a witness of throughout her father's lifetime. Despite the current situation, she wanted the communities of Tanzania to know how much her father loved Tanzania, and that her absence at her father's funeral and burial was NOT by choice.

For the past 30 years, Professor. Robert Rugimbana also invested in the education of hundreds of thousands of students in South Africa, Tanzania, Australia and around the world. His educational impact and influence enabled these students to graduate with Masters, Doctorates and PhDs - a phenomenal teacher, educator and professor.
Moving forward, his daughters look forward to seeing his legacy through and ensuring that every dream he has, continues to build and expand to all corners of the world. With degrees in the United States of America and Australia, Professor Rugimbana's legacy will continue to thrive around the world. A very unfortunate outcome due to the actions of spiteful family members, an outcome a loved and respected scholar and family man did not deserve.
