Survival club Sergeant Prepper updated the guidelines for preparing for an emergency evacuation during hurricanes. The club lists down important things people need to do to secure their family and property during a hurricane, and how to safely evacuate when necessary.

Hurricanes and other natural disasters are devastating, especially if people are not prepared for them. According to Sergeant Prepper Survival Club’s new guidelines, if evacuation is necessary, it must be done before the storm is at its peak. Traveling light, with only an easy-to-carry bag containing a first-aid kit, a few clothes, food, and water is ideal.

Sergeant Prepper Survival Club believes that preparing for hurricanes should begin as early as possible. An evacuation center or a safe location where people can wait the storm out should be planned ahead of time.
The club encourages people to fortify their houses, and prepare standby power and water supply should they need to stay home. Pets and livestock, if any, must be secured.

Knowing the city’s emergency procedures can help families survive disasters.
